Tigo Guatemala

Increase transactional capacity. Project to improve the transaction processing platform using Oracle Fusion Middleware.

BACKGROUND

Tigo Guatemala detected problems in the service it offered with its Middleware transaction processing platform due to its limitations in processes, response times or recurring blocks.

These technical limitations resulted in ineffective purchases, renewals and/or product extension transactions from their channels (web and branches), as well as in customer service problems, which generated dissatisfaction in inquiries and/or requests with a consequent loss of income.

HOW DO WE IMPLEMENT THE SOLUTION?

With an initial general diagnosis, a double analysis is performed:

  • Analysis of the architecture and infrastructure necessary to guarantee the correct processing of transactions in the middleware, according to the needs of the client.
  • Analysis for the improvement of response times of the business’ back.

Next, using Oracle Fusion Middleware as a tool, the necessary actions are executed to achieve the desired improvements, orchestrating the work around 3 levers: constant advice, assurance of the communication between databases and exhaustive testing (stress, performance, etc.)

WHAT HAVE WE ACHIEVED?

The main improvement observed is the increase in transaction processing capacity in the Middleware, going from the 700 transactions per minute in the old system to more than 1700 transactions after the optimization.
