Infrastructure support and communications
Infrastructure management can be considered as a single service or considered in indivisible modular form comprising the following elements:
Operating Systems: Windows, UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX), HOST (MVS, Z / OS, OS/390), Linux in all distributions.
Electronic Networking: switches, routing, firewall.
Databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
Transactional Middleware (CICS, Tuxedo).
Application Servers (Websphere, Weblogic, JBOSS, Tomcat).
Web Server (Sun One, Apache, IIS).
This can range from the administration of one of the components, to full management of the same. VASS undertake this work to ITIL standards across all of our processes.
Evolution of IT
The current model of IT is inevitably a continuous evolution model with subsequent cost reduction.
To fit this model clients have to be prepared for the optimisation of resources, adaptation to new technology or business requirements, and to the continuous improvement of processes.
For this reason the management of infrastructure must not only keep systems going, but also be prepared for constant evolution and transition to new business requirements.
>Benefits for the company
Correct management of infrastructure allows the company to optimise critical processes, getting the system to serve as a service to the business and achieving relevant reductions.
In this way the systems go from being an added cost for the business to a crucial service for their continued growth
